The spring terms show the start of a busy time for our Nature Squad Representatives! Planting, watering and looking after our ‘Grow Your Own’ is in full swing and the children have been really excited about the upcoming arrival of our very own greenhouse. This will support us to grow more vegetables and fruit such as cucumbers & tomatoes.
Our Bee Garden is now planted and we hope to see a meadow style area at the rear of the Trim Trail. We were very proud to be able to plant 160 trees in the school last term, as part of the Queens Canopy scheme through the Woodland Trust – and I am pleased to say that ALL trees have survived the recent cold snap and our fruit trees are also looking particularly healthy.
We continue to recycle our crisp packets and the school is working closely with High Halstow Environmental Group to join in other initiatives as they come up.
